Mono Vides

A former fighter for the Mineros Bloc in the United Self-defense Forces of Colombia (Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia - AUC), Torres temporarily operated in the coca-rich mountains of the Bolívar department through 2008, two years after this paramilitary bloc officially demobilized. With an estimated 80 followers, he later latched onto the main body of the Paisas, and is now the de facto leader of approximately 400 combatants. His current whereabouts are unknown, but most likely he is based in Antioquia’s northwestern ranchlands, a region known as Lower Cauca.
