The U.S. announced that it would deliver a Black Hawk helicopter to Mexico’s Federal Police, honoring its commitments under the Merida Initiative, which aims to boost law enforcement in the country.

Mexico’s El Universal reports that helicopter, worth $20 million, will be transferred on December 8, and is the third UH 60 Black Hawk delivered so far. Three more have been promised to the federal police agency.

According to the U.S. State Department, a total of 14 helicopters have so far been handed over to the Mexican government as part of the Merida Initiative.

The agency has also said that more than 6,800 federal police officers, 4,300 judicial sector employees, and 2,000 corrections staff have so far received training as a result of the aid package.
