The Synthetic Drug Revolution: Lessons From 10 Years in The Field

About the event

November 20, 2025 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm

For more than 10 years, InSight Crime has conducted extensive fieldwork across Latin America to chronicle the accelerated expansion of synthetic drug trafficking.

From the fentanyl crisis in North America, to the surge of methamphetamine in Mexico, and the spread of tusi across South America, synthetic drugs are reshaping organized crime and creating unprecedented challenges for policymakers.

In this donor-exclusive event, we will explore how these markets are configurated, why they are so difficult to disrupt, and what we can expect to see in the future.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear from two of our experts and ask questions. They will also receive a summary of the key takeaways and an ebook compiling some of our most relevant work on the subject.

The event will be held in English.
