Guatemalan drug lord Mario Ponce, who is one of that country's most-wanted criminals, was captured after his helicopter landed in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Ponce is suspected by Guatemalan authorities of operating in various cities and transporting drugs through the department of Peten. Investigations indicate that his helicopter had taken off from Guatemala, and that it had been carrying cocaine. La Prensa reported that Ponce was accompanied by fellow Guatemalan Alberto Morales Coronado and by Honduran Jose Lito Flores, who were also detained.
