On May 4, InSight Crime will be publishing The Cocaine Revolution in Venezuela, a groundbreaking investigation into how the Venezuelan government regulates the cocaine trade in the country. InSight Crime puts a gender perspective front and center, not only as part of our daily coverage but as the focus for investigations, such as The Paramilitaries and Sexual Violence Along Colombia’s Caribbean Coast, published in April 2022.
To ensure the highest of standards when it comes to raising awareness of these issues, InSight Crime has conducted internal workshops to improve our coverage of gender and organized crime, and to ensure we do not re-victimise the protagonists of our stories, who have suffered violence at the hands of criminal organizations.
